Humans

Mortals: Mortals are simply generic, living people from the world of the living. They cannot see or sense disembodied spirits in any way. They have the most potential of any individual, able to become anything. After being exposed to large levels of Reiryoku, a mortal can become either a Quincy or a Fullbringer. After death, Mortals can become either pluses, which can become Shinigami, or hollows, which can become Arrancar.

Pluses: A plus is a benign spirit of a human that has died. They have a chain, called the chain of fate, protruding from their chest. This chain originally connected the Plus to their living body, but is severed upon death. They can be sent to the Soul Society by a Shinigami via a ritual known as Konsō. If they are not sent to the Soul society, their Chain of Fate will eventually corrode, turning them into a hollow. Pluses are often hunted by low rank Hollows as a source of food.

Quincy: The Quincy are a clan of spiritually aware Humans. They have naturally high levels of Reiryoku, and are able to manipulate Reishi to form spiritual weapons to fight with. Unlike the Shinigami method of killing Hollows, which purify the soul and allow it to move on, the Quincy eradicate the soul entirely. Due to this, the Shinigami slaughtered the Quincy, eliminating all but one Tribe; the Vandenreich. A unique side effect of their powerful spiritual pressure is an increased lifespan. The Quincy are able to live for thousands of years, having a similar lifespan and aging cycle to the Shinigami. A list of Quincy techniques can be found here, while information on the Quincy Gesicht and Volkommen can be found here.

Fullbringers: The Fullbringers are spiritually aware humans who were exposed to the Reiryoku of hollows at a young age. They are able to manipulate the Souls of objects, allowing them to utilise unique powers. By manipulating the souls of objects they have a profound bond with, they are able to use unique release like abilities. Depending on the nature of their powers, they gain access to a variety of Hollow abilities. A unique side effect of their powerful spiritual pressure is an increased lifespan. Fullbringers are able to live for thousands of years, having a similar lifespan and aging cycle to the Shinigami. A list of potential Fullbringer techniques can be found here, while information on Fullbringer power objects and True Forms can be found here.

Shinigami

Shinigami: Shinigami are spiritually gifted Pluses that have had their inner powers awakened. They are recruited from the residents and nobility of Soul Society. Shinigami use a weapon known as a Zanpakutō. Supernatural blades that are a manifestation of their owner's soul. In addition to wielding their Zanpakutō, Shinigami use a school of magic known has Kidō, allowing them to perform both offensive(hadō) and defensive(Bakudō) spells. A list of Shinigami techniques can be found here, While information on Shinigami releases can be found here.

Visored: The Visoreds are Shinigami who have acquired Hollow powers. Having begun as Shinigami, the Visoreds appear entirely human and, barring those times where they are using their powers, are indistinguishable from ordinary Shinigami. After mastering their hollow powers, a Visored can don a hollow mask, increasing their combat prowess and giving them access to some hollow powers such as cero temporarily. They are still able to use all the abilities of the Shinigami, both with and without their mask on. Visored are a race reserved for an event prize.

Hollows

Hollows: The Hollows are former Pluses (deceased Human souls) that lose their hearts to despair or remain in the real world for too long. Any spirit that is not guided to the Soul Society by a Shinigami via Konsō may eventually turn into a Hollow. Hollows are devoured by an insatiable hunger to devour other souls to fill the void inside their soul. When a Plus becomes a hollow, their heart is torn from their chest and forms the mask that dons their face. Due to this, every hollows powers are a reflection of their heart, and as such are completely unique. Hollows have two main groups; Normal hollows, which are small, weak hollows that comprise the bulk of the hollow numbers. These hollows stalk the human world and are generally easy to deal with. The other group of hollows are called Menos, which come in three flavours.

Gillian: Gillian class Menos are the first stage of Menos, and are the weakest form. They are considered foot soldiers. These hollows all look alike, and are formed out of a giant mass of thousands of smaller hollows. Typically, they have no true consciousness in this form, acting as giant mindless beasts. However, occasionally a single hollows soul will take over, causing the appearance of the Menos' mask to change, and that hollow will gain control of it. Once this happens, the Menos will begin to devour other Menos, and will become an Adjuchas.

Adjuchas: The Adjuchas are the second classification of Menos, and are the rank most hollows are when they become Arrancar. They are smaller than Gillians, and far fewer in number. Their hunger increases dramatically in this form, as to avoid regressing into a Gillian and losing their individuality this class of Menos must constantly devour their own kind. If any part of an Adjuchas is devoured, they cannot evolve into a Vasto Lorde and will eventually regress back into a Gillian.

Vasto Lorde: The Vasto Lorde are the third and final form of Menos. They are tiny, human sized souls, and look very similar to Resurrección form Arrancar. This is the pinnacle of Hollow evolution. The Vasto Lorde tend to hold dramatically high levels of power, topping even a captain.

Arrancar: An Arrancar is a hollow that has torn off their own mask. They look incredibly humanoid in appearance, but can be distinguished by the fragments of their broken mask that adorns their face, and their hollow hole. Any Adjuchas or Vasto Lorde rank hollow can tear off their own mask to become an Arrancar, but only a few survive the process. Those that do survive the process find their hollow powers are sealed separate from their body in the from of a Zanpakutō. Due to this, regardless of how strong the Arrancar was as a hollow, they all default to the same power level, and have to relearn how to use their former abilities. A list of Shinigami techniques can be found here, while information on Arrancar Resurrección can be found here.
